The American Indian Studies Center invites graduate students to apply for the AICRJ Book Review Editor position. This position entails 8 hours per week of in-person or remote work, beginning the week of July 8th, if possible. Position Details

Location: 3220 Campbell Hall/Remote
Description: Assign books for review. The Book Review Editor is responsible for assigning books to be reviewed for each issue of the quarterly American Indian Culture and Research Journal (10 reviews per issue, 30 per year) utilizing the eScholarship open access platform. Responsibilities include assessing the scholarly quality of the book to determine its suitability for review, selecting a scholar whose expertise is appropriate and sufficient for reviewing the book, and handling the entire review process, including initiating and maintaining author contact, soliciting books from publishers, and updating the reviewer database.
Qualifications: Required qualifications: Excellent reading and comprehension skills; accuracy and attention to detail; superior spelling capabilities; proficiency with Macintosh computers and Microsoft Word; and good organizational skills. Knowledge of American Indian studies and ability to correspond with leading scholars in the field. Must be a graduate student. PhD students encouraged to apply.

Desirable: Self-motivated, conscientious, able to set and adhere to a schedule. Ability to meet deadlines and manage workload with minimal supervision.
