Professor Randall Akee interviewed on NPR: Nobel Prize winning economist Angus Deaton; then the impact of poverty on children

Princeton professor ANGUS DEATON was awarded the 2015 Nobel Prize in Economics last week in recognition of his work focusing on measuring and assessing poverty. He has long been interested in looking at poverty not by income level, but by what people consume, their educational attainment and their life expectancy and how these factors should inform policy. He joins Marty to talk about his career as an economist, researcher and educator. Then, how just $4,000 of additional income significantly changed the lives of families and children living in poverty. We’re joined by UCLA public policy professor RANDALL AKEE
