Pilot Study on Indigenous People and Immigration Detention in Southern California

This research project will focus on the specific conditions of Indigenous migrants in immigration detention facilities, and their experience of the immigration detention system. While a significant number of migrants from Mexico and Central America are Indigenous, their identity as such is consistently erased in the official data and reporting. The goal is to produce a report highlighting human rights violations and offering policy recommendations.
