Inter-American Commission on Human Rights Keynote Event

The Inter-American Commission on Human Rights will be visiting UCLA for their 187th Period of Sessions in March 2023.

The Commission will conduct a total of seventeen hearings open to the public on human rights cases and issues throughout the Americas. They will also invite community-based organizations and other members of civil society to a forum to discuss important human rights issues facing Los Angeles and the United States.

Keynote Events March 7, 8, and 10 will feature a different keynote speaker each day at 4:00 p.m. on Native American and Black/Afrodescendent rights and reparations. March 9 will feature a film screening of Ferguson Rises at 6:00 p.m., followed by a discussion with the director, Mobolaji Olambiwonnu, and Michael Brown, Sr.
