Join us for our third workshop to be held April 15, 2023, the final event in our year long Core Program “The Forgotten Canopy.”

Our third workshop to be held April 15, 2023 is the final event in our year long Core Program “The Forgotten Canopy.” This community-based workshop will take place at the Chumash Museum in Thousand Oaks, California. The event will open with lunch and the opportunity to visit the museum. Alan Salazar, Chumash Cultural Educator and traditional storyteller, will talk to the group at the aps (Chumash traditional structures). Then, Everett Osceola, Cultural Ambassador for the Seminole Tribe of Florida, will talk about the building and meaning of a chickee, (Seminole traditional house or shelter).
