Viki Eagle

Director, Sovereign Tribes Academy

Viki Eagle, a Sicangu Lakota and half Japanese from Denver, Colorado. She earned her PhD in Anthropology from UCLA, where she researched an underground music scene in the Southwest called “Rez Metal.” She is passionate about tribal community-engaged research, curation, and projects. Her course, “Working in Tribal Communities,” is a three-part sequence offered annually in the American Indian Studies Department. In addition to her academics, she is an artist, a freelance photographer, and makes beadwork as a hobby.
