SUMMARY:Inter-American Commission on Human Rights Keynote Event
DESCRIPTION:The Inter-American Commission on Human Rights  ( https://promiseinstitute.law.ucla.edu/project/inter-american-commission-on-human-rights-visit-to-ucla/ )will be visiting UCLA for their 187th Period of Sessions in March 2023.\nThe Commission will conduct a total of seventeen hearings open to the public on human rights cases and issues throughout the Americas. They will also invite community-based organizations and other members of civil society to a forum to discuss important human rights issues facing Los Angeles and the United States.\nKeynote Events March 7, 8, and 10 will feature a different keynote speaker each day at 4:00 p.m. on Native American and Black/Afrodescendent rights and reparations. March 9 will feature a film screening of Ferguson Rises at 6:00 p.m., followed by a discussion with the director, Mobolaji Olambiwonnu, and Michael Brown, Sr.\nMore details to come.
